Kvesic reveals bleak days at Gloucester
MATT Kvesic has urged Gloucester not to turn Ross Moriarty into a pariah after the Wales back row’s switch to the Dragons next summer was confirmed.
Kvesic recalls how he was given the cold-shoulder at Kingsholm after news of his move to Exeter last January, with the flanker making just one further Premiership appearance for the club.
He hopes former Cherry & Whites colleague Moriarty, currently recovering from a nerve injury suffered last month, does not suffer the same fate.
Kvesic said: “I don’t know the ins and outs but it sounds like a similar situation to me. You have career decisions to make and he’s done what he felt was right.
“It’s a big loss for Gloucester but hopefully he’ll get good game time going forward because he’s a quality player. It would be a shame just to leave him out of the frame.”
Kvesic added: “That’s pretty much what happened to me. I spoke to (rugby director) David Humphreys about going to Exeter and he wasn’t happy, so that was that really.
“I hope it doesn’t happen to Ross because it’s a pretty bleak place to be when, whatever happens in training, you know you’re not going to play.”
