Wasps eye moves for Thompson and Socino
LEICESTER have their eye on a couple of Premiership rivals as they look to improve their squad for next season.
Wasps No.8 Guy Thompson, who has played over 80 games for the Coventrybased outfit, looks set to be heading to Welford Road.
Thompson joined Wasps four years ago from Jersey, who he helped win promotion to the Championship, and where he was leading try-scorer for two seasons running after a stint with Richmond.
Thompson, who started his career in the Gloucester academy, is yet to agree a deal to stay with Wasps, opening the door for the Tigers.
Leicester are also looking at Newcastle Falcons’ Argentinian hooker Santiago Socino, with Tigers No.2 Harry Thacker on the verge of leaving to join Bristol.
Socino, the brother of Falcons centre Juan Pablo, moved to the North East in 2015 after helping Hull Ionians win the National League 2 North crown.
