On this day:

December 3 1968 Nine members of Blackheath were fined £10 each for taking and driving their team bus away after the driver had stopped on the way back from Oxford University to phone the police. The driver took exception to Blackheath players setting fire to newspapers after he had refused to turn up the heating.
