have been sent back to the drawing board for a new coach after being snubbed by their first choice to replace Danny Wilson. Blues wanted Bath assistant coach Toby Booth to move to the Welsh capital when Wilson leaves, as reported by Blindside. But the former London Irish boss is staying with Bath despite the best efforts of the Blues into luring him across the Seven Bridge.

The Blues also wanted England World Cup winner Mike Catt, who is working with Conor O’Shea in Italy, to join as attack coach but it’s understood Catt plans to see out his deal with the Azzurri.
