Knights look to hit Notts for six

-

DONCASTER go in search of a sixth successive league win over Nottingham after coming from behind to beat the Green and Whites 32-26 in September.

They go into the game on a high having beaten Leinster last weekend to book their place in the quarterfinals of the B&I Cup.

Director of rugby Clive Griffiths, who this week extended his contract for two years, said: “It was a fantastic team effort to win over there and we’ll be hoping to build on that.

“We had a 77 per cent completion rate in possession and we completed 96 per cent in defence and you can’t ask for much better figures than that.”

Despite sitting in sixth position, Nottingham have not won a league game since beating Ealing in November.

But they have been as high as third and Griffiths added: “They’ve had a bit of a mixed season and I’m not sure what to expect on Sunday.”

Curtis Hill returns to the side on the wing, while up front Colin Quigley has recovered from a neck injury and skipper Michael Hills and Jack Ramare have both been recalled to the starting line-up.

They are joined by Josh Tyrell who will make his first Championship start following an impressive debut in Ireland.

Nottingham coach Ian Costello has made seven changes to his starting XV after last weekend’s 32-15 loss at Bedford.

Front row trio James Penman, Jimmy Stevens and Rory Burke all come in. Ben Morris returns to captain the side at blindside flanker, with Shane Buckley coming in at No.8.

Murray McConnell is given the nod at scrum-half and Will Millett replaces the absent Joe Cobden as Nottingham search for their first win against the Knights since March 2015.
