NEWCASTLE Falcons have agreed a deal that will see them sign Leicester prop Logovi’i Mulipola on a one-year contract this summer.

The Samoan international is out of contract with the Tigers at the end of the season and had been attracting plenty of interest from French clubs.

The 31-year-old, right, who has spent the last five seasons playing for the Tigers, is leaving the East Midlands after being unable to agree a new contract.

He received a financially attractive offer to drop down into the French Pro D2 to join Grenoble, while Castres were also long-time admirers. But Dean Richards has nipped in to land the powerful front rower and Mulipola will be heading to the North East when he returns from his summer holidays.
