Clifton’s brave 14 still good enough to win it
CLIFTON played the entire second half with 14 players, but it was the power of their pack and sharp opportunities taken by their backs which denied Birmingham the advantage of having superior numbers on the pitch.

Jack Jolly kicked a penalty for the Bees and then a Clifton lapse let in Nathan Tilsley for a blindside try to give Clifton a narrow interval lead.
A long period of Clifton pressure ended with the referee unsighted when they appeared to cross.
Then a clever crossfield kick presented Alex Lambert with a try.
Straight from the kick off winger Will Pomphrey ran strongly to present the outstanding Chris Levseley the chance to score. Barnes converted to increase the Clifton lead.
A sharp break ended with Pomphrey weaving his way over and establish a commanding lead, Barnes converting.
The Bees took advantage when Clifton emptied their bench to score two quick tries through Tilsley and Luke Smith, with Jolly converting both.
