Blaydon slip lets in Hull at the top

SHOCK of the afternoon must be Sandal's 43-35 win over leaders Blaydon who drop to third spot.

Declan Thompson, Nick Carolan, Elliott Thompson, Danny Grainger (2) and Simon Frewin were the try scorers for the home side, with Greg Wood landing five conversions and a penalty. Nathan Bailey, Nathan Horsfall, Keith Loughlin, Matt Jenkins and Dan Marshall replied, with James Guy adding four conversions.

Hull now go top after beating Kirkby Lonsdale 57-5. Star performer was Steve Hihitah with four tries, with Rupert Kay and Joe Stafford over for one each. Steven Johnson, who kicked six conversions, was the other try scorer. Lewis Williams pulled one back for the Cumbrians.

Billingham are second following a 47- 20 win at home to Wirral. Matt Kirkby and Luke Wilson bagged two, with Dan Dixon, Dan Burns and Peter Evans adding the others. Evans slotted six conversions.

For Wirral, Dan Harvey crossed for two with Stuart Grattan the other try scorer, James Annetts successful with one conversion and a penalty.

Lymm eased their situation taking the try bonus point in their 36-19 victory at home to Kendal. Olli Higginson, Jack Lythgoe, Cashel Chilvers, Aaron Rasheed and Luke Richards were the home try scorers, with Cormack Nolan kicking 11 points.

Alnwick were 22-7 winners at home to Vale of

Lune who are still without a win since promotion. It was a try apiece at one time, Duncan Smith for the home side and Jack Ayton for the visitors, converted by Alex Briggs.

However the boot of James Bird proved decisive with 17 points.

Harrogate beat Wilmslow 50-12. Andrew Lawton went in for two followed by Tim Heaton, Aaron Yorke, Nathan Wyman, Olli Rosillo, James Millington and Harry Jukes. Wyman also slotted five conversions. Alex Taylor and Mike Clifford crossed in reply.

Rossendale were 38-22 winners at home to Ilkley. Jack Ward bagged a hattrick with Rob Bramhall, Donald Nonyane and Nick Flynn the other try scorers.
