Tuilagi set to discuss his plans for future

-

MANU Tuilagi will sit down with Leicester Tigers in the next couple of weeks to discuss his future with the club.

The England centre, who made his first international appearance in two and a half years against Australia last weekend, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Tuilagi has endured a torrid time with injuries since December 2015 when he became the highest paid player in English rugby rugby, signing a £425,000 a year deal.

The powerful outsidecentre, 27, has attracted interest from a couple of French clubs with Lyon and Toulon believed to be keen on taking him across the Channel to the Top 14.

But that would spell the end of his England career with head coach Eddie Jones keen for him to play a major part in his bid for World Cup success in Japan.

The British Lions ace is closing in on a testimonial at Welford Road which could earn him a significant six figure sum if he chooses to reject a move to France.

The Tigers hope to know before Christmas what Tuilagi is planning to do next season, especially as he can start talks with Premiership clubs in New Year.
