Grimes at the double to end OAs’ run

- By RICHARD JONES

CHARLIE Grimes’ two tries ensured Canterbury kept up pace with the Rams at the top of the table.

Further tries from Aiden Moss and Royce Cadman condemned Old Albanian to their first defeat in five in the league.

Both sides entered this encounter on the back of impressive winning streaks and they were separated by just seven points in the league table.

After a cagey opening ten minutes, Canterbury made the breakthrough via Grimes as he drove past the Old Albanian defence and went over the line for a try.

A try under the posts from Moss and Ollie Best’s conversion ensured that Canterbury entered the half-time 17-0 to the good and in complete control.

The second half saw Old Albanian come back into it,
