Wasps fight to keep Daly
WASPS are making a last ditch attempt to stop England and British Lions star Elliot Daly from joining Premiership champions Saracens next season. Blindside revealed on November 18 that Daly, 26, was on the verge of moving clubs thanks to an extraordinary clause in his contract. That allowed him to leave Wasps if they failed to build a new training ground. Wasps have claimed there is no such clause and we have been told they are considering legal action to stop the move from going ahead. The knock-on effect of Daly going to Saracens to play outside centre is that Saracens’ Nick Tompkins, 23, is now unhappy despite being under contract for the next couple of years. The former England U20 international, who shares the same agent as Daly, could seek talks for clarification of his role at the club having enjoyed a more senior role so far this campaign.
