We can build on this says Young

-

DAI YOUNG believes Wasps’ valiant effort in defeat has put them back on track but concedes his side are out of quarterfinal contention.

The director of rugby watched his under-performing side score three tries against a rampant Toulouse side.

“I thought our attack was probably the best it has been all season and we put in some really good stints in defence,” said the former Wales prop.

“It wasn’t enough so we are never going to rejoice and pat ourselves on the back for losing. But if we can build on this, it will take a good team to beat us.

“We looked more like the old Wasps out there. In the last few weeks we’re looking more like the team we want to be.”

Young has urged his side to take this performance into their Premiership campaign.

He added: “Toulouse are a very good team and no one has really got near them. It’s no crime to lose, but it’s a massive game for us next weekend against Bath.

“We aren’t going to play a side as good as Toulouse every week.”
