Park in seventh heaven as Titans crushed

Rosslyn Park 46 Rotherham .... 24

- By ELLA JERMAN

GREG Lound scored 13 points as Rosslyn Park gained a bonus-point victory against top-end rivals Rotherham Titans to continue their promotion bid into 2019.

The hosts stormed into a 15-3 lead at the break thanks to tries from Arthur Ellis and Gregor Gillanders, before producing a 31-point second-half onslaught to extend their unbeaten run to six games.

Rotherham came into the game in good form, having also won their last five league fixtures, but it was the hosts who took the lead in the ninth minute when fly-half Lound – Park’s top scorer this season – scored a penalty.

Flanker Arthur Ellis crossed to extend the lead before Lound converted.

Rotherham conceded another try when Gillanders finished a maul, but they hit back just before half-time through an Ellis Abrahams penalty.

The visitors made a promising start after the break when Connor Dever and Connor Field went over, but Connor Hayhow struck back for Park.

Scrum-half Jack Gash became the catalyst for Park’s second-half onslaught when he made a scintillating run through the middle and Charlie Amesbury found the line.

A late try from replacement and top points scorer Alex Dolly proved nothing but a consolation for Rotherham, as Lound, Benjamin Marfo and Joe Munro all went over to secure a convincing win.
