BRYNMAWR marched into the quarter-finals of the WRU National Plate with a hard-earned 31-19 win over Resolven.

The champions showed they are still a force to be reckoned with as they ran in five tries against the Two West Central title hopefuls.

Liam Butler, Josh Congreve, Ethan Phillips and Ryan Gardner all crashed over to help the One East outfit into the last eight.

Butler wrapped up the scoring from the tee.

Welfare, but went out on the away team rule. Bonymaen, Nelson and Treorchy made it through with Cilfynydd, Llandudno and Pencoed all crashing out. The line-up for the last 16 of the WRU National Bowl is also complete. Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd are looking good to reclaim the title they won in 2014 after an impressive 33-12 triumph over Tylorstown. In a tense affair between Dolgellau and Bridgend Sports, the latter emerged as 9-8 winners. RTB Ebbw Vale edged Pontyclun 12-9 and Oakdale beat St Albans 20-11. But there was no mistaking the winner between Penygraig and Pentyrch with the former hitting 25 points while Pentyrch blanked. Aberaeron, Abergavenny and Nantgaredig are also in the hat for the next round.
