Five-try Drovers reap rewards of clinical display

Llandovery .... 38 Bedwas .......... 17

- By JAMES LLOYD

LLANDOVERY moved into the top half of the Principality Premiership with a bonus-point victory over Bedwas.

The hosts seized the initiative in the early stages of the game when dynamic No.8 Emyr Price smashed over from close range.

Bedwas lost a man to the sin bin when Adam Williams was given his marching orders for killing the ball at the breakdown.

Llandovery began the second half in the same fashion they started the first with their forwards laying siege to the tryline.

And after numerous carries by their forwards Dino Dallavalle managed to find a way over the line for their second try.

Bedwas hit straight back with Jordan Rees showing his pace and sheer strength to round his opposite number and score at the corner.

The home side began to gain the ascendancy, allowing Maynard to extend the lead from the tee.

Inside centre Jones put daylight between the two sides when he crossed for two tries in four minutes.

His first came when he hit a great angle off a Maynard pass to score while the latter score came courtesy of some lovely interplay.

Bedwas hit back with a score from lock Jonathan Davies who smashed his way over from short-range, but Scott Maynard sealed the win with a last-gasp try. Star man Emyr Price - Llandovery
