The flanker’s deal was due to expire at the end of June and he has been linked with a move to the United States.

Ealing Trailfinders continue their plans to make life difficult for Saracens in the Championship next season with multiple signings announced this week, including Zebre and ex-Harlequins wing Charlie Walker.

Wasps also bid farewell to Ashley Johnson after eight years, with head coach Lee Blackett saying the South African “has to go down as one of the best signings in Wasps history”.

The hooker, who has also played in the back row, falls two appearances shy of the 200-mark for Wasps.

Sam Graham has left Bristol Bears after almost three seasons at Ashton Gate to join Doncaster Knights. Operating on the blindside flank or at No.8, the forward has agreed a one-year deal with the Knights having spent last season on loan at Hartpury.

Jersey Reds have announced the arrival of 11 new players as Harvey Biljon and Rob Webber’s squad takes shape.

Heading to the island will be hooker George Edgson, props Ollie Dawe, Jack Higgins and Ciaran Parker, locks Zak Farrance, Shay Kerry and Sean O’Connor, scrum-halves Michael Dowsett and James Elliott, fly-half Sam Leeming, along with London Scottish captain, flanker Lewis Wynne.

Now 41, the two-time

Rugby Paper Championship Dream XV inductee will, like many others, play part-time in the second tier.

Bright said: “I think the part-time option is what’s best for the club going forward. As players we will have to adapt to working during the day and training at night, but I’m sure it won’t be too difficult for us to get used to.”
