Hogg is coming off a hectic schedule and faces a busy year, so Exeter took him off at half-time with a minor, as yet undisclosed, issue. Moyle, save for one hurried pass in the first half, looks an accomplished Premiership full-back despite a rugby life spent in the Championship with Cornish Pirates and is only on loan at Kingsholm. Given Hogg’s early exit no ‘winner’ of their duel but Moyle can be well pleased.
