WillGriff tells Sharks: I’m off back to Wales

-

THE SCARLETS are at the front of the queue of clubs looking to tempt WillGriff John back to South Wales next summer.

John, 28, the son of former Millwall defender Dennis John, agreed to a pay-cut with the Sharks in the summer but didn’t extend his deal which runs out in July.

The Plymouth-born tighthead who started his career with Cardiff Blues, joined the Sharks from Doncaster in 2017 and has already told them he is moving on.

John is keen to further his international ambitions after being called up for his Wales debut in the

Six Nations clash with Scotland before it was postponed.

He then missed out on the Autumn Nations Cup and hopes that returning to play in Wales next season will be a boost to his international ambitions.

Meanwhile, Sale are having talks with former England hooker Tommy Taylor, 29, about returning to the club he left for Wasps in 2016.
