Borthwick: We must be more clinical

-

LEICESTER head coach Steve Borthwick said he was “clearly disappointed” with the result.

“At the end of the game we were inches away from taking two points but ultimately Harlequins played very well and were clinical in taking their chances,” said Borthwick.

“There are two things. The first is how can we be more clinical and take the number of chances we created because we had plenty of opportunities?

“The second is to come away and score three tries. We’d aimed to get more from the game.

“We’re disappointed, but we will look at the positive side of the habits we are changing here and some of the progress we are making.”

Marcus Smith, who celebrated his 22nd birthday 24 hours early with a 22-point haul, said: “We’re delighted – it’s been a long time since we got a bonus point win here.

“We’ve let ourselves and the fans down so it was nice to get that one over the line and now we have to back it up against Sale next week.”
