Warren Gatland

-

Lions head coach Age: 57

This will be Gatland’s fourth Lions tour. He was assistant in charge of the forwards under Sir Ian McGeechan in 2009 before taking on the top job for the winning series over Australia in 2013 and the stalemate with New Zealand in 2007.

Now on sabbatical from his role as head coach at the Waikato Chiefs, as coach of Wales between 2008-19 he won four Six Nations titles, including three Grand Slams, and reached the semi-finals of the 2011 and 2019 World Cups. He has previously coached Connacht, Ireland, Wasps and Waikato.

As a player, he was one of Waikato’s longest-serving players notching 140 games at hooker for the province – a record at the time.
