Dale waste no time setting up victory

- ■ By ED WILLIAMS

DALE exploded into this match with a try in the first minute – and never looked back!

Rian Hamilton made a break which saw him beat all the cover to score an unconverted try, and the scene was set.

Wharfedale’s second try came after good work by the forwards, eventually giving Matt Beesley the chance to score. Tom Davidson converted.

The third was another team effort coming straight from the restart with Bradley Viner scoring an unconverted try.

Bournville finally came to life and opened their account with an unconverted try scored by Edward Drake-Lee.

But Dale hit back with a Davidson penalty to lead 20-5 at the break.

Davidson then added another penalty at the start of the second half before Mitchell McGahan replied from the tee minutes later.

Dale effectively put the game away with a bonus-point try when the forwards drove to the line and Davidson joined in and was awarded the score. He also converted to give Dale a comfortable 22-point cushion.

The visitors scored two late tries through McGahan and Callum Thompson but could not prevent a great fivepoint win for the Greens.
