Greg Smith converted both tries, and then linked up with Rawlings to send Ben Gregory over, before Carleton made another break to send Sturgess in for his second and make it 38-3 at half-time.

Despite kicking the game back off again for the second-half, Fylde managed to win the ball back immediA ately thanks to a Harlan Corrie leap, and with barely a minute on the clock, Sturgess had completed his hat-trick.

Sheffield responded when Connor Scott went over.

Tom Forster was sin binned for a high tackle, and Sheffield took advantage, when a brilliant kick found Sam Down to score.

Gregory raced onto a Smith kick to restore Fylde’s advantage before Matt Ashcroft rounded off the scoring with a 40-metre effort.
