Syston send out a warning

MAINTAININ­G their promotion charge were Syston as they ran in 14 away tries to send a clear message to the rivals.

Broadstree­t were the hosts on the end of a 17-90 defeat to their third-placed visitors, with the tryscoring beginning after just three minutes.

Benji Clarke ended the day with a hat-trick of tries while Sam Bird, Luke Veebel, Cash Chapman and Luke Stewart scored a brace each. Also getting tries were Sam Read, Ross Burgoine and Josh Kilby.

With one eye over their shoulders, Bromsgrove were made to work hard for a 25-19 home victory over Bridgnorth, which was their 10th win of the season.

Rhys Morris came away with a brace of tries while Josh Holt and Hugh Lockhart both followed him over the whitewash. Adding the extras with the boot was Harvey Causer kicking a penalty and one conversion.

Burton put on another entertaini­ng display for their fans with tries once again flowing at both ends of the pitch.

After being beaten in a 31-33 to Derby last weekend, this time out they were victors in a 36-29 home win over Stoke.

James Davies, Dom Taylor, Alex Nesbitt, Will Derry and Charles Bunting all crossed the tryline for the hosts.

League leaders Dudley Kingswinfo­rd remain the team to catch at the table summit and recorded an impressive nine-try 53-7 win against Nuneaton.

Ryan Smitheman, Stefan Shillingfo­rd and Mark Harrison all clinched a brace of scores as the league leaders marched on, while Kieron Williams, James Ryan and James Fildes added further tries adding to their tally.

Samuel Vaughan kicked three goals before sharing the duty with Frederick Morgan for the other.
