PONTYPOOL picked up another five points as they ruthlessly disposed of bottom of the table

Tata Steel with 10 tries in a 62-0 away win. The bad news for the home side is they have to travel to Pontypool Park this weekend for the return fixture.

Skipper Scott Matthews once again led the way with two tries and there was also a brace for fellow back row man Ieuan Jones. The other tries came from Mathew Powell, Adam Brown, Mike Herbert, Dai Langdon, Huw Anderson and Joel Mahoney, with Langdon kicking six conversions.

Beddau made it three wins in a row as they triumphed in horrendous conditions at Ystrad Mynach to beat Cross Keys 20-14.

Two penalties from Ben Griffiths gave the Green & Golds a great start and then a try from Evan Griffiths just before the break – his sixth in three games – was also converted by Griffiths to make it 13-0 to the visitors at the break.

A second try, this time for Ben Lee, was also converted by Griffiths to make it 20-0 before Keys got their act together and responded. They hit back with a try from Cameron Davies, which Sam Berry converted, and a second before the end at least earned Keys a losing bonus-point.

Bargoed managed to pick up their bonus-point with four tries in a 26-10 home win over Ystrad Rhondda before the game was ended on the hour mark due to fog. The result stands and the Bulls moved points clear of Cross Keys in third place.

Neath remain tied on 74 points with unbeaten Pontypool at the top of the table thanks to a 33-12 win at Cardiff Met. The visitors ran in five tries through wings James Roberts and Louis Rees, while scrum-half Luc Jones, No.8 David Griggs and outside half Steff Williams got the others.

Williams added four conversions to move up to 187 points for the season. Osian Hill and prop Conor Chapman crossed for Cardiff Met.
