Raising charity cash – rain or shine!
It may have been one of the wettest ever Scalby Walks in the event’s 59-year history – but with £860 raised for charity it was still a huge success.
More than 40 entrants braved the rain on Easter Monday to complete the walk, which traditionally features half a pint in a number of pubs along the way. Publicity officer John White said: “We are very pleased with how it went, given the weather was atrocious. Lots of participants were in fancy dress and really got into the spirit.” He also thanked everyone who took part, plus the organising committee and marshalls who helped out. Proceeds this year were donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust. Pictured are Sean Kelly, Tom Cathcart, John White, Shirley Bell and Jamie Wallis. Picture by Richard Ponter 181912
