Jumpers welcome better weather

-

FRIARS Hill Stables enjoyed a good turnout for their open and combined showjumping competition last week with riders keen to get out with their horses following the recent bad weather.

Karen Dowson kicked off the competition, claiming the top spot in the 45cm class riding Woody, while Jody Salton and Nicky won the 55cm class.

Tatyana Heard lead the way in the 65cm class riding the unstoppable Comet and Rebecca Champion proved to be on top form winning both the 75cm and 85cm classes riding Buster.

Despite not quite gaining the red rosettes at this month’s competition, Jake Noble and his pony Harry put in consistent performances to be in the top three in the 65,75 and 85cm classes and with Harry currently for sale, there should be no shortage of buyers keen to take on this talented pony.

The centre’s next competition will be on March 25 and will be the last opportunity for riders to qualify for the David Broome Championships. 1st Karen Dowson & Woody 2nd Sandra Thurlow & Lulu 3rd Alison Champion & Molly 1st Jody Salton & Nicky 2nd Isabelle Baldwin & Lottie 3rd Lauren Bollens & Henderson 4th Sandra Thurlow & Lulu 5th Karen Dowson & Woody 6th Fiona Hardman & Champ 1st Tatyana Heard & Comet 2nd Jake Noble & Harry 3rd Ellie Sellers & Jimmy 4th Trish Emms & Max 5th Jody Salton & Nicky 1st Rebecca Champion & Buster 2nd Lucy Gilsenan & Maddy 3rd Jake Noble & Harry 4th Lucy Gilsenan & Comanche Blue 5th Tatyana Heard & Comet 1st Rebecca Champion & Buster 2nd Lucy Gilsenan & Maddy 3rd Jake Noble & Harry 4th Lucy Gilsenan & Comanche Blue.
