Apprentices rewarded for exam success
THE SUCCESS of more than 150 students has been celebrated at they h Training Services annual awards.
The event was held at the Crown Spa Hotel and saw 156 people who have all completed qualifications over the last year receive their awards.
Among them were nine youngsters who have undertaken they h Military Preparation Course.
The evening was opened by Frank Mcmahon, managing director ofyh Training Services, together with the mayor of Scarborough, Cllr John Blackburn, who gave an opening speech thanking all the employers from Scarborough who employ apprentices.
He then went on to congratulate everyone on their achievements.
After the presentation of certificates, a cap and gown presentation of certificates was held for the following people who achieved their Level 4 AAT Accountancy: Sonia Ford, James Styan, Stephanie Russell, Denise Dacillo, Emma Jones, James Richardson, Jaclyn Lord, April Pratt and Clare Mawrey.
Then came the individual awards for Outstanding Achievement in their field, with the presentations being made by Cllr John Blackburn who praised the students. The winners were:
Military Preparation Course Achiever of the year - John Powell, who is swearing his Oath of Allegiance into the Army on Tuesday, enlisting in the Royal Logistics Corps as a Port Operator
AAT Accountancy, The Paul Midgely Award for Outstanding Achievement – Jo Brooke from yh Training Services Business Administration - Ruth
Mcculloch from Bairstow Eves Customer Service - Natalie Tomaino from yell Adworks ITQ – Archibald Chayne Performing Manufacturing Operations - Jason Hirst of Durable Signs Retail - Veronica Wilson Team Leading - Linda Cole from Bartoline
Management - Steve Schmuck, principal of Central Property Lettings Warehousing and Storage - Daniel Coulthard from Bonus Electrical Numeracy - Rachel Dunn from the yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust
Literacy - Andrew Garner from St Catherine’s Hospice
