Cherie’s treble brings away victory

-

CHERIE Playforth was the hat-trick hero as she lead her side to a comfortable 4-1 victory away at Fulford.

Boro opened the scoring after five minutes when good link-up play between Darcey Boyes, Aimie Swift and skipper Playforth released top scorer Rhian Cattermole who finished well.

After 15 minutes Boro doubled their lead when Swift again did brilliantly to turn and set Cattermole away. She crossed for Playforth to who beat the home keeper with a deft chip to complete the first half scoring.

The second half started with Boro on the front foot and they made it three after 30 minutes when Abbey Frederiksen won the ball and fed Playforth down the line. She switched play to find Swift, whose shot was well saved by the home keeper, but Playforth was alert enough to follow in and tap in the rebound.

She then went on to cap a superb performance by winning the ball on the halfway line and driving forward to finish in the bottom corner to complete the scoring and confirm a third place finish at least in what is a highly competetive league.

SCARBOROUGH Ladies FC are holding an opening training session for potential new players from years three to seven.
