Johnson plays down Falsgrave’s chances

-

FALSGRAVE boss Billy-jo Johnson believes his side are the underdogs heading into Monday’s Frank White Trophy final against FC Soba.

Johnson says - although his side are favourites to win the third division championship - they will have a very hard task on their hands against Mike Keld’s charges.

Johnson said: “I think it will be a close game but I would say they have the better momentum at the moment and are probably the favourites.

“We have beaten them once and they have defeated us in the league so we know it will be hard, but we just have to go out there and have a real go at it.”

Falsgrave could be the division three champions by the time the game comes around depending on results in the league tomorrow.

Soba are also still in with an outside chance of winning the title so both sides could do the double.

Soba also lost out in the final of the League Trophy when they were beaten 4-1 after extra-time by Whitby Fishermen’s Society onwednesday night at Pickering Town.

Johnson added: “They have some good lads but we have players ourselves who are capable of creating things and scoring goals such as Paul Brady, Rich Tolliday and Mikey Anderson, while we will look to Claytonwalker to try and dominate the middle of the park.”

Entry to the game at Seamer Sports, which kicks off at 12noon, is £2.50 for adults, £1 for senior
