TICKETS FOR TOP SHOWS,
THOUSANDS of tickets for Russell Watson and John Barrowman’s summer shows at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre can be bought in person today.
More than 2,000 tickets for Watson’s concert at the theatre, and a similar amount for Barrowman’s show, are available for purchase in person from the Escape2 The Sands office at Peasholm Gap from 8am to 6pm over Easter.
Multi-talented Torchwood star Barrowman, 45, will tread the boards at the 6,500-seater venue on Thursday June 21, while superstar tenor Watson, also 45, will perform at the outdoor arena with a minimum 32piece orchestra on Saturday August 4.
Last month, residents local to Scarborough were able to snap up tickets for the shows by Olly Murs, JLS and Dionne Warwick before they went on general sale nationwide, and Scarborough Council, which booked the concerts, has been able to secure the same arrangements for the more recently announced acts.
Scarborough music fans queued round the block – and even camped out overnight – to get their hands on the “early bird tickets” for X Factor sensations Murs and JLS.
Some determined fans queued from 3.30pm the previous day.
The first 1,000 tickets for both shows sold out within a matter of hours, with the remainder going on sale online at ticketmaster.co.uk
Murs’ July 15 concert has since completely sold out, with only a few tickets remaining for JLS, who will be joined by special guest Alexandra Burke at the August 18 event.
