Leaders Pindar hammer Nomads to boost title push
Waterhouse, Dransfield and Dent hit top form for Leisure Centre

This comprehensive whitewash by leaders Pindar shows that they fully intend to take the title for a third year running.
They fielded their strongest side in Toby Waterhouse, Ross Dransfield and Richard Dent and they won all their si ngles with Dent and Dransfield completing the whitewash with a doubles win.
Nomads’ only resistance came from Neil Raine, who let slip a golden opportunity against Dransfield.
Raine was two sets up and 9-6 in the third only to lose it 12-10 and tamely surrender the last two sets. CORINTHIANS B........................6 ROLO...........................................4
This result could easily have been reversed if Rolo’s Ethan Lowe had beaten Derek Elliott and Pete Lee after taking them to five sets before losing.
Both Corinthians, along with Pete Kirk, scored a brace each to earn a four-point win.
Rolo’s response came from a Martin Lowe treble and a straight-set doubles win with Ethan. RYEDALE SC...............................4

Bottom-of-the-table Ryedale never gave up and were rewarded with a consolation two points.
Ray Mitchell, John Gascoyne and Tich Temple all hit singles with the latter two taking a hard-earned five-set doubles.
Whitby sealed the win with a treble f rom John Hanson and another unbeaten display from the in-form Bob Evans CORINTHIANS B........................4 RAVENSCAR...............................6
Ravenscar got off to a great start when James Hodgson defeated Derek Elliott in straight sets and Gerald Smith had a four-set win over Pete Kirk.
However the crucial rubber turned out to be Smith’s win over Elliott.
Smith was at the top of his game but faced defeat at 7-3 down in the fourth.
He took the next eight of nine points to take the set and the fifth 11-8.
Smith went on to win his other rubber and claim the man of the match award.
Hodgson’s brace and a single for Mike Wheatley completed Ravenscar’s score.
Corinthians had to be content with a Kirk brace and a single for an out-of-sorts Elliott.
Both players were successful in the doubles to earn their team a consolation two points.
