Newlands and Traf are flying the flag for Scarboroug­h

Trafalgar and Newlands Park will be flying the flag for the Scarboroug­h News Sunday League i n their respective North Riding County FA Cup finals next month.

Traf will take on Thornaby Meerkats i n the Sunday County Cup final on Thursday April 9, 7.30pm kick-off.

This is the first season that Liam Salt’s side have entered the competitio­n, where all their senior league playersi ncluding Jamie Patterson, Wayne Aziz and Joel Ramm can play.

Newlands, who are challengin­g for the division one title along with Traf, will take on The Cleveland in the Sunday Challenge Cup final two weeks later, on Thursday April 23, also with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Rya n Cooper, who a l s o plays for Pickering, and Ben Luntley are the joint-managers of Newlands, and winning the competitio­n would be a great achievemen­t i n their debut season.

Both games will be played at the headquarte­rs of the North Riding County FA at Stokesley FC.

The Scarboroug­h News Saturday League have al so confirmed the dates for their three cup finals next month.

The Frank White Trophy final between Seamer Sports Reserves and Falsgrave Athletic will be played at Seamer on Easter Monday, April 6, midday kick-off.

The T r o p hy T r a d e r League Trophy final between Cayton Corinthian­s and Edgehill Reserves or Athletico2­B is on Wednesday April 8 at Pickering Town, 7.45pm kick-off.

The Coa s t a l S h e l l f i s h League Cup f i nal between Newlands Park and Whitby Fisherman’s Society is played a week later, on Wednesday April 15, also at Mill Lane, with a 7.30pm kick-off.
