Scalby opened the scoring when Callum RandersonWray tucked away a penalty a f t e r Brandon Di s t on was brought down in the box.
Scalby continued to make chances with Finley DavisonWard and Chris Wanless pulling the strings in midfield.
The second half continued in the same manner and it was no surprise when man of the match Diston scored a brilliant individual goal from a tight angle.
Ayton then created a coupl e of c hances with Adam Quilter saving bravely before Adam Davis cleared off the line.
Ben Dolan, Jack Lochlan and James Clifford all p e r f o r m e d va l - iantly at the back for Scalby and kept Ayton at bay for the rest of the match.
Matty Bourne then scored an opportunist goal for Scalby, before the goal of the game from Ben Quilter, who fired i n from the edge of the box following a perfect defencesplitting one-two with Randerson-Wray.
Josh Williams nearly made it 5-0, using his pace to beat Ayton’s offside trap, but his shot was saved. Matty Bourne then helped himself to a brace, coolly finishing off after the keeper had parried a s hot from Diston.

The Cayton girls started on the front foot, quickly taking control of the game and it came as no surprise when they went into the lead.
Great play down the l eft wing from Cayton’s player of the match Molly Swales led to a cross into the box that was neatly finished by Trudy Corcoran.
Not l o n g a f t e r s k i p p e r Eden Kennedy fed in striker Liv Hall, who finished with a smart shot to put the hosts 2-0 up and in control.
Wetherby hadn’t been able get a foothold in the match but were suddenly given a chance to get back in it when Cayton switched off allowing them to score against the run of play.
This rocked Cayton and the second half saw them losing their shape a n d eve ntu a l l y Wetherby capitalised on this with an equaliser after a corner.
Cayton strived to get back in front with efforts from Hall, Kennedy and Corcoran all going close.
With the final whistle came a penalty shoot-out as no extra-time is played.
Keeper Dani Brown saved two Wetherby pens, but both teams ended scoring three, Corcoran, Kennedy and Kirsty Stewart netting for Cayton.
Keeper Brown saved the Wetherby’s sudden death penalty, leaving Hollie Button to fire the last penalty into the bottom corner and seal the win and a place in the semis.
