McBusted will rock Scarborough’s Open Air Theatre for the second year in a row – with a support act from last summer headlining the venue’s final gig.

The pop rockers, formed by members of chart toppers McFly and Busted, will play the venue on Saturday July 18. And a Bank Holiday tripleheader will see Scouting for Girls joined by The Hoosiers and X-Factor contestants Only The Young.

That gig, which will bring the curtain down on the 2015 programme, takes place on Sunday August 30.

Scouting for Girls also played the venue last year as a support act for Little Mix.

Fans of McBusted to o k to Facebook to talk of their “excitement” at the group’s return.

“I will definitely be going to see them again,” said Marilla Loomans.

“They were great last year and I’m sure they will be just as good, even better this time round.”

Amanda Richardson echoed her comments, adding: “Absolutely fab – they were brilliant last year and we will be going again this year. “Excited muchly!” The two newly announced shows are understood to be the final gigs announced for 2015.

They join a line-up that includes Sir Tom Jones, UB40, Elaine Paige, Ja mes, Th e Vamps and Blue with Atomic Kitten.

McBusted are currently on a lengthy arena tour, before jetting off to Europe to support One Direction on a handful of stadium dates this summer.

Scouting for Girls and The Hoosiers both t opped the charts in 2007, and have toured frequently since, while Only The Young appeared in last year’s series of The X Factor.

Indie rockers James will kick-off the season on May 22.

The latest acts mean that almost half of last summer’s line-up has returned this year.

Besides McBusted, Boyzone and Jessie J will be back, after successful shows in 2014.

While Scarborough Council is yet to disclose how many tickets were sold last year, the authority insist it was the most successful year to date for the multi-million pound venue.

Tickets for both shows go on sale on Saturday from venues across the borough.
