Corinthians staged a comeback through Mark Marshall, who scored a fine brace, plus Symons, whose tenacity was rewarded with a four-set win over Toby Waterhouse.

The doubles win by Marshall and Glen Hodgson was merely a consolation victory for Corinthians, as Dent ended with a brace for Pindar and Waterhouse a single for the worthy champions.
