A new brewery kit has been installed at an award-winning Filey brewery and the company has high hopes for the future.

A special event was held at Wold Top Brewery on Thursday October 8 to officially launch the new brewery kit.

Visitors and special guests of the launch were given a tour of the brewery and a presentation of the equipment and the processes in place.

Guests such as Welcome to Yorkshire’s chief executive Sir Gary Verity and Filey MP Kevin Hollinrake attended the opening of the new brewery plant and officially opened it for business.

The new brewery will help the business cope with the growing demand of their popular, award-winning beers.

The brewery also unveiled a new water feature (as seen in the bottom photograph) which featured in this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show as part of Welcome to Yorkshire Brewers Yard Garden.

The new brewery tour was launched by Tom Mellor, director of Wold Top Yorkshire Brewery, giving a speech on the success and future success the new brewery kit will bring.

Kate Balchin, brewery and bottling manager, said: “The new Brewery will allow us to produce more beer, help us cope with the ever increasing demand for our beers throughout the UK and ease the pressure we have been putting on our employees to cope with current demand.

“It will make us more efficient and help us maintain the high quality of product which our customers have come to expect.’

Wold Top Brewery was founded in 2003 by arable farmers Tom and Gill Mellor and the family business has grown into a huge brewery.

In the 12 years the brewery has been open, it has won many awards for its premium beer.

The company names all of their ales after local inspirational places and events such as Wold Top, Wolds Way and Scarborough Fair.
