Harry Groombridg­e completed the scoring with a fine finish following some good work from Solomon Teasdale.

Eric Hall hammered in four Scalby under-14s as the Otters won an entertaini­ng game against Scholes Park.

Scalby took the lead after 10 minutes, Callum Pl lu expertly finishing off a swift counter-attack.

Hall doubled the home side’s lead shortly after, driving home from the edge of the box after Tom Bowes’ pass.

Scholes rewarded for their attacking adventure as a goalmouth scramble led to a penalty, Dylan Madill placing the ball beyond Max Tadman’s reach to make it 2-1.

The early stages of the second half shaped the game as Scholes pressed hard, but Jack Rogers and Lewis Tad- man stood firm.

Scalby then extended their lead, Pl lu was tackled when well-placed to score but the ball rolled loose to Hall, who smashed high into the net.

Hall completed his hattrick with an unexpected snap shot that deceived the Scholes keeper.

Ollie Bambridge then surged out of defence to play in John Clifford, who made no mistake for 5-1.

The visitors kept their heads up, and pulled themselves back into the game with two quick goals, Richie Burns and Dan Virr keeping the game alive.

Hall ended any hope of a comeback when he made it 6-3, turning with the ball 35 yards out and hammering it into the top corner.

Ethan Buck was finally rewarded with a good run as he broke the offside trap to tuck home for 7-3.

Flixton under-14s got their first win of the season thanks to a fine 5-3 win against Goldsborou­gh.

It wasn’t long before Taylor Plant made it 1-0 to Flixton before he turned provider for Cameron Alexander to head home.

Just before half-time Goldsborou­gh pulled a goal back, however Jay Elsden showed his poacher intstincts with two goals in quick succession to seemingly give the home side the win.

Goldsborou­gh had other ideas with a couple of quick goals to put themselves right back in the game, but Plant smashed in a wonder strike from the byline to seal the win.
