Man in court on porn rap
A man has appeared in court to face allegations that he tried to incite underage teenagers to appear in pornography.
Scarborough man Philip Dorritt also faces several charges of making indecent images of children.
He appeared at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on Thursday October 15 for his first hearing.
He didn’t enter a plea during his brief appearance, with the bench opting to instead pass the case to York Crown Court, with the chair of the bench saying: “These are matters that should be dealt with at the Crown Court.
“The issues are so serious that they can only be dealt with at Crown Court.”
The 47-year-old, of Colescliffe Road, remained largely quiet during the morning hearing, speaking only to confirm his details.
He is charged with three counts of inciting two teenagers to try and appear in pornography.
He also faces four further counts of making indecent photographs of underage youngsters.
The alleged offences are said to have taken place between April and May last year.
Dorritt was granted conditional bail, with the condition not to approach a person, who was named in court. He will next appear at York Crown Court on Friday October 30.
