Young Entrepreneur (aged up to 30), sponsored by University Campus Scarborough: Open to all business people aged up to 30. Judges are looking for someone who has created wealth and employment with a sustainable and profitable enterprise. Employer, sponsored by University Campus Scarborough: Open to companies which have implemented a significant innovative development in people management practices eg training schemes, reward and recognition structures, performance management systems and health and welfare schemes. Retailer of the Year: An award based on prestige and overall performance New Business (up to one year in business). Open to businesses that have been open for up to one year. Business Person of the Year, sponsored by The Brunswick Centre: The person who has made the biggest contribution to business in the area within the last 12 months. Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by YH Training: This award will recognise a special apprentice who has excelled in their training and in their business, service or industry. Companies, training centres and college managers can nominate an individual who has shone in effort and achievement. If you employ or train apprentices, make sure that they are given this opportunity. Social Enterprise Award, sponsored by Yorkshire Coast Homes: The Social Enterprise Award will spotlight companies, business organisations, industry and professional services with social or environmental accomplishments. This includes reinvesting profit into community causes or supporting the community through activities, events and partnerships.
