Mild weather lifts shopping figures
Shoppers flocked to shopping centres across Yorkshire and The Humber in September with footfall up by 10.3 per cent on August, the latest British Council of Shopping Centre (BCSC)/Footfall Monitor revealed. The monitor indicates that the milder weather and Rugby World Cup had a positive result in driving up visitor numbers. Edward Cooke at BCSC, said: “Our monitor reveals that shoppers packed into centres across the region, encouraged by the Indian summer and Rugby World Cup, with supporters making the most of their visit with a trip to the shops and bars.”
