Beekeeper’s visit

-

A beekeeper visited Derwent Valley Pre-school this week. She spoke to the children about how she looks after the bees and how honey is made. The children and staff then used beeswax to make candles and bee sculptures. They also tasted two types of honey, oilseed rape and heather. Most of the children liked the heather honey as it was ‘sticky’. They then ended the visit by singing a song about a bee.

Remember there will be no Tweenies next week as it is half term (October 26-30), however it will return on Wednesday November 4, 9am to noon. There are still places available for two, three and four years, please contact 07961955956 or pop in for more information.
