On Sunday morning at St Hilda’s Church at 10.30am there will be the annual Samaritan’s Shoebox Christmas Appeal.

Shoeboxes will be packed and sent from the church again this year; packing starts at the end of October, but there will still be time to hand items in at either post office up to the end of the first week of November. Guidelines for what to include: any dolls or stuffed toys (with CE label only - not handmade or knitted soft toys); pencils, crayons, writing pads, notebooks; toothpaste and brushes, wrapped soap, comb or hairbrush, flannel; hat, gloves, scarf, sunglasses, hair accessorie­s, costume jewellery, wind up torch, wrapped sweets (sell-by date no later than March 2016).

NOT, please, used or damaged items, war-related toys, perishable sweets, liquids of any sort, anything of a religious, political or racial nature, sharp objects, anything glass or fragile, playing cards, or clothing other than listed items. between the two charities.
