Impromptu topics
Impromptu topics were under discussion at last week’s Forty Club meeting. The state of the NHS, Parliamentary reform, war remembrance, the alleged increase in sex crimes, and finally, Britain’s relationship with the USA, all came under scrutiny. There was a lively and wide ranging debate on all the topics.
David Raine, the chairman, did a sterling job at keeping the meeting under control and Mr Fenter gave the vote of thanks to all concerned.
Tonight’s meeting is with the York Speakers Association and the topic is ‘This house proposes that Britain should not take any more refugees’. The meeting starts at 7.30pm. For more information contact Ray on (01723) 354813.
