Magazine writing
The Scarborough Writers’ Circle met on October 13 when Alan Combes and John Cooper delivered the second of two sessions on writing for magazines.
Alan had done a lot of preparation for the session but was unable to go ahead with what he had planned because there were insufficient people to take part. All being well, Alan’s session will go forward to next year’s syllabus. However, we had a great evening nonetheless looking at the proposed articles members had put together as requested at the last session by Alan and John, with valuable input and offers of help from both session leaders. We look forward to reading published pieces from the proposals of those present in the near future.
The next session will be the Grace Bingham competition results on Tuesday at 7.15pm at Scarborough Library. The judge is Stuart Larner who has recently moved to York with his family but is kindly returning to host the evening. It will be good to see as many members as possible, to hear the stories and say goodbye and good luck to Stuart. More information about the circle is available at www.scarboroughwriterscircle.com.
