-

Five club members competed very successfully at the

Bridlington Half Marathon, which while it is not the fastest half marathon in the area, is a popular event and this year had a superb total of 588 finishers.

The most outstanding result of the club’s runners was that of Sue Haslam, who was sixth woman overall and the first over-60 in 93 minutes 35 seconds.

Haslam’s time was the fast- est time by a United Kingdom over-60 female in 2015, and she now tops the latest ranking list almost two minutes faster than the runner-up.

Neil Scruton continued his dominance in the over-65 group and was a clear age group winner and 70th overall in 92.28.

Scruton was followed by Rod Millard, who clocked a personal best of 97.14 after returning to road racing following a four-year absence.

Kerry Curtis also achieved a personal best of 113.20 and Craig Bridgewood was six minutes faster than last year with 126.37.

Seven club members competed in the latest Sewerby

Parkrun, and achieved some very good results in their respective age groups.

He was very closely followed by 10-year-old Issy Nicholls, who was second female in a personal best 21.43.

Faye Debenham was fourth female overall and first under-17 with a personal best time of 23.49.

Debenham was joined by her parents Heather and Kevin, who ran together in 34.34.

She was followed by Alison Hornsby, who was 26th female and sixth over-45 in 28.44, and Mike Padgham, who achieved a remarkable eighth personal

best time in 17 races since May of 29.08 and was the second over-55.

Over a scenic course which after a hilly opening five kilometres culminated in a flat three kilometre lakeside section, Kraft finished a close second place in 33 minutes 43 seconds.
