Special WI rose donated to St Catherine’s

A commemorative rose marking the centenary of the Women’s Institute can be seen at a local hospice. Scalby and Newby WI do- nated the rose to Saint Catherine’s hospice as part of the national organisation’s 100th anniversary. Group president Veronica England said that the new rose had been specially bred for the centenary year and was now springing up everywhere.
