Event ploughs £914 into hospice coffers

-

A vintage day and ploughing match at Riverside Farm, East Ayton, managed to raise £914.35 for Martin House Children’s Hospice. The day saw vintage tractors, engines, cars and motorbikes being enjoyed by families from across the region. Visitors also had the opportunity to look around a car boot sale and various stalls. At the end of the day a disco and bar helped boost the funds further. Event organiser David Ward said: “I would like to thank all the Scarborough businesses that supported us on the day. “Also, many thanks to all who helped on the day and prepared the show field. “Thank you to all the people who supported the event on the day. “There was plenty to keep people entertained with 20 tractors taking part in the match. “There was also a display of vintage tractors, engine and cars.”

From Sunday 1 November a car boot sale will be held at the Denison Arms, East Ayton, to raise money for Martin House Children’s Hospice. The car boot will be held every first Sunday of the month, starting at 9am with set-up from 8am. The cost to take a pitch will be cars £5 and vans £7. To book a space or for more information call Mr Ward on 07901 936141.
