Council prize for Filey Library
library services and putting on activities that benefit the local community. Among the Filey team’s achievements were promoting the library to new visitors, enrolling children in the Bookstart Bear Club and enabling customers who were not easily able to attend the library to get books delivered to their own homes by volunteers through the Home Library Information Service. The award was presented to service development officer Ann Colling, staff and volunteers by team leader Fred Callaghan last week. County Councillor Sam Cross was also present at the handover. July must be a lucky month for Filey Library as they won the award last year for working closely with the local school on their digital shift and facilitated the setting up of many groups tackling health and wellbeing such as the Filey Macular group, a knit and natter group and Soundings creative writing workshops.
