On Wednesday October 21 Deena Pickard gave an interestin­g talk about making hats, £170 was raised for church funds. The raffle of a superior cloche hat was won by Hidegarde Smart. Thank you to Deena and everyone who attended.

There will be a joint coffee morning with the Methodist Church on November 8 in the church room, with cake and book stalls, charge £1.50. Following this there will be a jacket potato lunch at noon with a variety of fillings with vegetarian options, charge £4. These two events will raise money for church funds and for the Christmas card to inform the village of the services to be held over the Christmas period.

Once more leaflets for the shoebox appeal collection have been distribute­d in the village, if you have not received one they are available from the church. Filled boxes can be left at the church on Thursdays 10am to noon, Fridays 2.30pm-4.30pm, Sundays 10.15am-10.45am or at the shoebox service on Sunday November 22 at 3pm.
