Pitchforth nets first division by three

Filey Golf Club held a Saturday Medal Qualifier last week and were rewarded with an excellent turnout on the day.

Mike Pitchforth (10) was the star man of the competition completing his round in just 76 shots for a net 66 to win the first division by three clear shots.

Second place was decided on a countback between Paul Pritchard (11) and Ian McKaig (7) after they both carded net 69.

The par-five seventh hole figured highly on all three of their cards when the best any of them achieved was a double bogey.

Division Two was a very tight affair with three players Andrew Hunter (16), Paul Hebden (15) and Keith Atkinson (15) carding net 69s, the countback put them in the order as stated.

Another countback resolved the tie in the third division, Mick Trenham (26) just edging first place from Si mon Meynell ( 28) both having recorded net 72.
